Most young athletes don’t struggle because of ability.
They struggle with confidence, pressure and how they respond when things don’t go to plan.
That’s where I come in
I work with talented young athletes aged 8–18 to help them build real confidence, handle mistakes positively and perform with belief in training and competition. Not just when things are going well — but when the pressure is on.
Why I Do This
As a parent of young athletes myself, I understand how much sport can shape a child’s confidence — both positively and negatively.
I’ve seen talented kids train brilliantly but doubt themselves in competition, be their own harshest critic, lose confidence after mistakes, put huge pressure on themselves and sometimes stop enjoying the sport they once loved.
Mindset isn’t just about performance. It’s about helping young athletes feel confident, resilient and happy in their sport.
My role is to give them the tools and perspective to trust themselves, handle challenges positively and enjoy the game again.
How I Help Young Athletes
Through 1-to-1 mindset coaching and small group programmes, I help young athletes build genuine self-belief, handle mistakes and setbacks positively, stay calm and confident under pressure, develop resilience and emotional control, enjoy their sport more and perform closer to their true ability consistently.
Everything I teach is simple, practical and designed specifically for young athletes — not generic psychology.
Experience & Approach
Over the past few years I’ve worked with young athletes across multiple sports including football, cricket, tennis, basketball, netball, rugby, athletics and more — from grassroots through to academy and national level.
What matters most isn’t the level they play at. It’s helping each athlete develop a mindset that allows them to thrive both in sport and in life. My coaching style is calm, supportive and solution focussed. Young athletes quickly feel comfortable, which allows them to open up, reflect honestly and start making real progress.
Parents often tell me their child looks forward to sessions, feels more confident, handles pressure better and is enjoying their sport again. That’s always the goal.
Who I Work Best With
I work best with young athletes who have clear ability but don’t always show it in competition, can be hard on themselves after mistakes, care deeply about their sport, want to improve their confidence and mindset and would benefit from support handling pressure and expectations.
Whether they play grassroots, academy or performance sport, mindset coaching can make a huge difference.
